Jesus, The King of Glory

Ps 24:7 ¶ Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

Ps 24:8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.

Ps 24:9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

Ps 24:10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory.

Did you know that this is talking about Jesus? These prophetic passages are talking about the last Adam, the "second man", Jesus. For the first time ever, a MAN came up to those heavenly gates and said those wonderful words. You can see the angels saying "Who is this King of glory?", and the Lord Jesus replying "The LORD strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle, Lift up those everlasting doors so that the King of glory can come in." Can you see the look on their faces? What MAN is worthy to come through those doors? Then Jesus walks boldly through the gates and up to the throne, and sits down at the right hand of His Father and says "It is Finished", and the Father says "Yes Son, it is finished indeed". Jesus had by one offering on that tree, put away forever the sin of the world. Jesus the man, the Son of God, the Lord of hosts, and the King of glory.

In churches today we usually view Jesus as a man getting whipped and humiliated, finally nailed to a cross, which is all very important seeing how He, who knew no sin, suffered so unjustly for our redemption, but today I would like to write about a victorious, strong, mighty, all powerful King and Lord of all, because this is how we will see Him when He returns. He will be the "Man that sat on the horse" (rev 19:19) that will make war and defeat the kings of the earth and slay their armies and will as it is written in 2Th 1:8 return with His mighty angels in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God and obey not His gospel (2Th 1:8). I want to talk about this man...

Heb 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;

Heb 10:13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.

This is the Man I want to talk about...

Heb 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, CROWNED WITH GLORY AND HONOUR; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

We see Jesus crowned with glory and honour! Adam was once crowned with glory and honour but when sin entered, we lost the glory. We all fall short of the glory. But not Jesus. He was crowned with glory and honour because He was absolutely righteous. Jesus loved rightousness and hated iniquity.

Heb 1:9 Thou (Jesus) hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

I love how it ends;

Re 19:11 ¶ And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

Re 19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

Re 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

Re 19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

What a MAN! What a Saviour! What a High Priest! If all of the angels, cherubim, seraphim, powers and principalities, in heaven and on earth turned on Jesus to fight against Him, they would have no more a chance then a grasshopper versus a hippopotamus. It would be as futile as beating the wind with one's fist.

This is the Jesus I serve. I know that He is all powerful and unchanging for eternity and He is not ashamed to call me brother. Friends, This same Jesus loves me! Why, I ask myself sometimes. Why would this King of glory love me? What have I done to deserve this love I ask myself? Nothing have I done, and that causes me to want Him evenmore. To know that only by His grace, am I saved, is awesome. It sure makes me feel better to know that its all Jesus. Oh, what would I give to catch just a glimpse or, to touch the hem of the garment of my Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ...

Eph 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

Eph 1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

If our older brother, and friend Jesus be for us, who can be against us? Who can stand against His mighty power? If ten thousand come against me, what can they do against His power? And with His righteousness imputed to us, how can we fail? No, with this King of glory we never need to fear and can with complete confidence walk through this life knowing that if we keep looking to Jesus, then we will soon be together in glory with Him.

Romans 4:5 To him that worketh not but believeth on Him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Jesus died for the UNGODLY! Friend, that is you and me!
It's a FREE GIFT. Dwell on that, FREE GIFT! You cannot do anything to earn it and and the only people the gift is offered to, is THE UNGODLY! This means YOU! This is wonderful news and you don't have to DO ANYTHING, just believe. It's not what you do my friend, it's what He has done... Tetelesti. It is finished.
